Poppins Craft Market
What a lovely day yesterday, Tracy (my helpful assistant- who I pay in fibre) and I went to Poppins Craft Fair in Potten End. We were organised, we had time to set up the table and time for coffee and danish before the doors opened. Yum!
We met some lovely people, customers and other craft people. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
It was great to talk to everyone, lovely shared stories. Everyone seemed really interested in how the fibres come together to make the pieces on the table.
I am really looking forward to helping design the scarf for Ruth and her wedding season. She wants the 'wow factor', I think we can do that!
We had lots of interest in the workshops I am planning...watch this space....if want to be added to the mailing list, contact me

Nuno Felt Scarf Workshop
I just want to share this lovely nuno scarf that was made in a felt nuno workshop with Patricia. This was the first time she has done any felting, what a great final piece!
The silk was hand-dyed, a lovely bright orange and we selected lime green and purple fibre to give a strong colour contrast.
Patricia was looking for a silk background and dreads, it appeals to her wild side! Here she is laying out the fibre where she wanted the dreads to be.
Lots of rolling later here's the finished article.

Had a great weekend making felt!
Last week was half term in the UK and we have had our lovely children at home, normally this would means lots of playing but not much felting!
However, last week there was been felting with friends, felting for clients, felting for craft shows and playing with children. It doesn't get much better than that.
On Sunday I went to meet Carol Waddle at the IFA Region workshop. She taught us 'Flying Free and Hidden Depths'. Carol is a woman after my own heart, lots of lovely colour...and I was random (well kind of) in my placement of the fibres. I was flying free, although I have to be honest- it did give me a bit of a twitchy eye!
Look at this amazing piece she made.
