Bag Workshop

I had great fun with Jackie and Margie creating these stunning bags. Neither had done any felting before...and Margie was thinking about doing flowers...we persuaded her to do a bag! She did the knitting bag, fantastic. I love the detail that Jackie got on her bag, she has two different images and is planning further embellishments at home. I am looking forward to seeing the final piece.

I have heard that both bags are much admired and both ladies slept well that night!

Flower Bag and Knitting Bag
Great job ladies!

We thought these looked like 'Sweet Peas'... just beautiful.

Close Up of the knitting bag...what lucky knitting!

Rolling, rolling and more...rolling.

Very tired...but smiling. I heard that both ladies slept well that night!

A good day!

Bag Workshop for Beginnners

Oh I am very lucky, I have been able to run a studio workshops with newbie felt makers. One Friday I had Lynn and Audrey... they never heard of wet felt...Audrey mentioned her experience was limited to the fuzzy version she had used in school!

They worked really hard...I think this is a brilliant result for their first attempt at wet felting. These bags were made on a resist. We did try them on our heads to see if they also made good hats?!?

Looks like fish swimming surrounded by gold, just lovely!
Lynn is just full of ideas, I love the braided handle.

Such lovely detail and colour- great job!

Happenings...

Hello all,

I hope you had a most splendid Easter break and ate lots of chocolate, I know I did. Yum!

I went to Living Craft in Hatfield last weekend to teaching felt making, it was great fun. Everyone got to make a little wall hanging, we had lots of happy, smiley and amazed people! I will try to get some pictures for you.

Here are some images from recent workshops...amazing what you can do with fluff...

  1. Patricia's beautiful, bold silk scarf. Didn't she do a fantastic job? Lots of rolling, so extra advantage of exercising those bingo wings!

  2. Prue's Coffee pot cover. Isn't this great, I love the colours she picked. This is the first time she's felted...fantastic job... but there is a slight problem-...she now has the bug and is planning to felt at home.

  3. Peggy' 3D Fish...(Peggy also makes the most lovely felt animals and sews lovely vintage pinny's, let me know if you want to get in touch with her)...Look at this fish... she made it the same way we would make a bag, but she's going to stuff it and put it up in her house...way too cute.

Today I am making a 'Sorting Hat' for a school – let's see what it looks like when it's finished...watch this space...

Workshop Update

I am doing lots of studio workshops on Fridays and Saturdays. Email me dates that you are free
and
I will get you booked in for felt frenzy, cake and fun!

Take care

Riches Revealed- Joanna O'Neill

We all went on a fantastic workshop this weekend. We spent the day with Joanna O'Neill, who you can find at her website here. She specialises in Textiles, lots of Felt Work. She has also written a couple of books and read excerpts to us while we were working, very civilized!

She started us with this...

Then we did this...
Then this....
And finally.....

My felting friends and I loved this workshop, soooooo many different things we can do with the technique.

Here are the pieces from all of us!

We love it, we have so many ideas of what we can do with the technique. What do you think? Do you like?

Cobweb Scarves

This cobweb scarf really makes me feel like going to the seaside! I'm calling it Ocean.

And this makes me feel like being in the garden...first flush of Spring... so...Soft Spring is it's name!

Do you like these?
I am putting Ocean and Butterfly in the shop today. I always forget to update the shop because I want to keep everything!

Have a good day everyone. x
